A choice

Here's the same picture. One in black and white. The other in color. I'd be curious to know which you like better. Leave a comment and let me know. I shot it thinking color. Then I saw Larry's version in black and white, and I thought that looked pretty cool too. At this point, I'm liking the color one of mine a little bit better, but I'm really curious what anyone else thinks.

Let me be the first....

The black and white looks flat; the color looks dimensional. Maybe if you could give the b/w more contrast by manipulating it a bit and end up with a dramatic image.

I definitely prefer the color one. It has a lot more interest. The warm tones are beautiful and inviting.

I don't get the same sense from the b&w one.

I vote for color as well. And I also vote for you taking me to this park if I ever come to visit. You and I have a history of cave exploration.

Tim,

I'd have to join the others in saying the color beats out the B&W in this photo.

There is some awesome color play between the greens of the tree and the hints of green on the foremost rocks. The creamy earthen colors also add interest.

The B&W lacks textural contrast and depth.

Either way you slice it though, I love your work. Take care,

John
