Whale watching

On our first morning in California, our ship set sail on a three hour tour. We were hoping to see some whales. After about two and a half hours, I was thinking we were going to get skunked. While we didn't see any whales, we did see what seemed like hundreds of these dolphins. They're Risso's Dolphins, and they were fun to watch as they swam through the swells and jumped out of the water from time to time. I'd still like to see a whale, but this was a pretty good consolation prize.

The next time we go to Hawaii it's going to be in January so we can go whale watching. You and Amy must come along so that we'll end up with better pictures than what I'll get. (I'm not kidding--come!!) Those dolphins look like beluga whales a bit, don't they?

That's some cool stuff. Too bad about the whales, but those are really neat.

Was the water really that blue? How far out were you?
Looking forward to more vacation pictures. . .
